The expression “The castles of the Loire” brings together under the same name a group of French castles located in the Country of the Loire (The Garden of France), a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

High places in the history of France, the Castles has a collection of vintage furniture in style, both Gothic and Renaissance, which testifies to the artistic refinement of the first French “Renaissance”. They have the peculiarity of having been, for the most part, built and renovated between the 15th and 17th centuries, when the court of the King of France was installed in this region.

There is no comprehensive list (there are 71 places in history). However, many of these castles, usually of royal origin, or built by lords close to royal power, hold an essential part in the history of France, favorite and resort places of some great Kings.

Less than two hours from Paris, Europe Discovery Travel invites you to discover the Loire region and its cultural and historical heritage.
